Description

Castleton Darjeeling

Planted in 1885 by Dr. Charles Graham, the Castleton Tea Estate produces one of the finest Darjeeling teas. The name of the estate, formerly named Kumseri, now reflects the castle characteristics of a building near the tea garden.  And its Castleton Darjeeling reflects its heritage and reputation.

For years now, this small plantation located in the south of Darjeeling has been producing first quality teas that are known all over the world. This Castleton Darjeeling TGFOP1 tea is a classic for connoisseurs and lovers of excellent second flush tea! The shining amber-colored cup is absolutely beautiful! The dark and excellent Sinensis leaf and the silvery tips show the careful plucking by excellently trained personnel. The taste is aromatic, elegant and soft with a mild and discreet flower.

While many Darjeeling teas have a certain brightness characteristic one comes to expect, this Castleton Estate has an exceptional smoothness which is why we selected it to add to our black tea offering for your enjoyment.

We carry other Breakfast, Estate and Blended Black teas, so you can change up the subtle character of your morning cuppa.  Each have their own character, body, strength and feel.  Each have their own loyal following and many of our friends buy several so they can change up their mornings.  You might want to consider our Irish Breakfast, Scottish Breakfast, or English Breakfast Teas, or our Kirkoswald EstateKenilworth, Tezpur Estate Assam or Pettiagalla Estate teas, or even our Castleton Estate Darjeeling. or Anhui Keemun China Black Tea.
